In the english calendar, one more circling of the earth around the sun, would soon get over.
In every actions of nature, the universal laws or dharma are well embedded. That the world is going round and round is an indicator to the fact that history repeats itself.
Just because the world is going round and round, it does not mean that we are orbiting the same place or space. The whole solar system is moving around the galaxy at 220Kms per second. Since this is also circular, it does not mean, that we are again orbiting in the same place, as the galaxy itself is moving at 19.4km per second in our constellation. It is also believed that the constellation itself is moving at millions of miles per hour speed in the universe.
So it is clear that we are going round and round, we are not orbiting in the same space, year after year.
The point in all this is, even though the same things do happen again and again, they happen differently. History repeats itself, but the forms of it are different. That it is repeating is not clear to everyone.
Other way of looking at it is, across time-periods, though happenings and the causes for these happenings look different and unconnected, it is a similar set of happenings that happen again and again.
Over a period our actions will come back to us, though we are continuously moving forward in time. Our constellation may be racing at break-neck speed, but we are tied to our sun and keep moving to and fro from the sun.
Hence history repeats itself. Not exactly in the same way. But in different forms.

Saddam has been hanged. So many people die in so many ways. Nobody meets or escapes justice based on their mode of death. It is laughable that so many people celebrate this death in the name of justice and so many people express remorse in the name of injustice.
If saddam does not die today, he will die some time later. Anyway he will die. George Bush, Blair and all of us also will die. There is nothing in death that makes people meet or deny justice.
Saddam's death does not make him a martyr. Neither it makes him a sinner. In the cycle of violence initiated by Americans in Iraq, his death is just one point.

The Iraq war is almost a mini-third world war.
The hall-mark of the second world-war was that the ideologically opposite countries joined together and fought with countries, which they considered as enemy. The capitalist and communist countries fought with military dictatorships, to ensure that such dictatorships do not become a global power.
In Iraq war also, totally opposite ideologies such as a capitalist democracy and islamic theocracy have joined hands (although indirectly) to fight with a military dictator to ensure that his dictatorship does not assume a leadership role in the middle-east.
No intelligent American would have really gone the whole hog against Saddam, as he is the best hedge against Iran, which in reality, is a bigger enemy to the Americans. Iran is a bigger enemy for Americans, simply because it is supporting an alternative ideology and government model to Capitalist democracy. Just like the communists. If Iran becomes successful, then it can throw the Americans out of entire middle-east.
Saddam was in no way ideologically opposed to Americans. In fact for him there never was any ideology, except the ideology of power. While Iran was ideologically opposed to Americans and can harbor and spread a huge anti-american energy in the middle-east.
Hence Saddam needed to be supported always, even when he was being opposed.
Somewhere, somehow, some over cautious, under-intelligent jew in the American administration guided Americans totally wrongly on this, made them fight against saddam and made the Americans do the bidding for Iran.
Americans have sacrificed 3000 lives till now to strengthen the influence of Iran in middle-east. It is almost similar to Americans strengthening their arch enemy, the communists in the second world war, by sacrificing their own lives.
Americans will sacrifice more lives, waste more resources on this now. They cannot afford to get out now. The only way out for them, is when Iran becomes a great power in that region, so that it can help trample the sunni's insurgency and influence in Iraq and eventually lead to establish a islamic theocracy in the region. This is what is meant by Iran providing stability to Iraq.
So history repeats itself. Albeit, not exactly in the same way. The underlying current is similar. History serves as a chilling reminder to all ideologically opinionated leaders like Bush, Blair, Osama Bin Laden, who go to war based on their ideology and religion, that their actions will follow them and their future.
So the message for those who celebrate saddam's death as a milestone is that they should remember, milestones will reach them also. Because of the position of power they are in today, they cannot wish it away. And there is nobody else, except themselves to blame. Make no Mistake. Milestones will reach them. The form of it is not known.
To those who celebrate his death, remember that sometime back he celebrated deaths of ur people and in a distant future, his people may celebrate ur death. Do not fall into this cycle, that is being funded by ideology and driven by greed.

The only way for the common man to escape from this cycle is to use the power of democracy to remove such ideologically oriented dogmatic leaders away from positions of power.
If people do not fight today for changing their way of governance or remove such dogmatic leaders from power, then they have to pay for all actions of their leaders. This is true for Americans and Europeans too.

We watch these wars, destruction, deaths and declarations on TV. We voice an opinion based on the ideology that we are dependent. These events are a grim reminder on how people can become opiate with ideologies, dogmas and religions, whether to the right or left, whether it is Islam, Hinduism or Christianity.
